  1. What does sqaMethods do?

sqaMethods provides training that allow individuals to get real world information about the software development industry with an emphasis on Software Testing. We also provide Testing Automation design services to companies who are looking to implement it.

  1. How much does a Software Tester make?

It depends on various factors, but it can range from $15 to $55 per hour. It depends on the technical and business knowledge of the tester.

  1. What is the workshop called?

  1. If my goal was to become a Software Developer, how can I benefit from this Tester workshop?

Sometimes the best way to get into the company you want is to get hired where they have an opening. While Software Testing may not have been in your plans, it is a great stepping stone into software development. As a tester you will acquire intimate business knowledge about the application you will later create as a developer.

  1. I don’t have a computer science degree, but I’m interested in changing careers.  How can this workshop help?

  1. I already have a degree in Computer Sciences, why do I need supplemental training?

College courses are designed to teach you concepts and technical knowledge you will use throughout your working life. This workshop will teach you very practical information about what you will be doing the day after you get hired as a software tester.

  1. Can I test video games with the knowledge I receive?

Yes. The knowledge you will gain can be used in any industry that follows standard Software Development methodology.

  1. What will I know after I complete the training?

You will know the structure of a software development team, the artifacts you will be responsible to produce, the format of those artifacts, how to deal with project managers and their expectation, how to estimate testing time, how to measure software quality, how to use matrixes to create test cases, etc. See the course syllabus at www.sqaMethods.com/WrkshpAgenda.htm

  1. Will I receive a certification after attending the workshop?

No. However, you will receive a certificate of completion and a recommendation letter, indicating you have successfully completed the training. You can then present this letter to your potential employer during your hiring process.

  1. What do I get after completing the workshop?

Besides receiving the certificate and letter of recommendation, you will receive printed material of the subjects covered during the training. As a graduate of the course and for a limited time only, you will also be able to keep in touch with the course presenter via e-mail, for personal coaching sessions on software testing. This is a benefit provided to our students to ensure your success as a software tester.

  1. Why do I need a testing coach?

As with any other activity in which you are a beginner, having a coach available to answer any questions and walking you through situations you will encounter during the beginning of your testing career is invaluable in ensuring your success. I will not only teach you the material, I will stand by you as you apply it.

  1. How long is the training?

The workshop lasts only one day. It starts at 8:00am and finishes at 6:00pm.

The introductory price is $375 for the month of May. After that it will go up to the normal $475.

  1. Will sqaMethods help me find a job?

No, unfortunately we do not have placement services. However job leads at www.dice.com or at www.monster.com are always up-to-date and a great source of technical jobs.
